Seco Services cost me £20

Take it you haven't fitted them yet ?

Yes I got them fitted late last night after a busy day getting my van taxed again among other things, I just got to fit the shower and the rail for the rose then I can have a wash, I'm starting to hum a bit

I saw a car today with a tax disc that was 10 months out of date. How do they get away with it? I see a rozzer every time I am "making good time"

Don't know how they managed it that long, what with all the fixed and mobile cameras about. We occasionally get a DVLC van that drives slowly around here, scanning parked cars reg nos as it goes. Every now and again, a neighbour's car suddenly acquires one of their clamps.

Suppose the car you're talking about could be one that's not properly registered to the driver's address.

I forgot to put my new tax disc in my car this week. Didn't realise till Thursday at work I still had the old one that expired last Sunday. It had been lying here beside my computer monitor for a fortnight.

It is a beaurocratic system that still issues road excise licences in this day and age. We don't physically need them. Once the duty is paid the DVLA will have details held on the Police National Computer which the relevant authorities have access to.

Get rid of the physical tax disc and save the taxpayer £millions per year for staff doing the unnecessary processing.

May be the presence of the disc is to allow snitchers to report untaxed vehicles. I cannot see any other reason for it.
