Security Light feed

Hi,

I would like to install an external security light. I do not have a light feed parallel to the security light, but there is a socket.
Other than bad practice, is there any technical reason that I cannot take a light feed from the socket?

providing its fused down then you can take a feed from the sockets

Thanks for such a swift response. The circuit is fused. That was what concerned me. If somebody turns off the down stairs lights, they would be in for a shock when removing the light.

Wire the sec light through a fused connection unit off the ring. Label the FCU. Job done!!
