I have just got a 50w led security light with a pir sensor. The problem is the sensor only angles up so far before it fouls on the light casing reducing the sensing range of the sensor, in order to get the full range the light has to be pointed up. I need to know if I can turn the whole thing upside down so that the sensor is above the light. The sensor will turn 180 degrees so that the controls are still on the bottom of the sensor but the electric cable going into the light would be on top and I'm not sure if there would be water ingression into the light.

Probably would. If you have to do that, it might help to drill a small hole at the bottom so any water that does get in can find its way out.
