As we all know no room is square, with some rooms being a lot further out than others!

I was just wondering what different methods other spreads use for setting out a ceiling when boarding i.e starting points etc?

I usually start boarding about a foot in from the side wall if the room is wonky staggering the boards as usual at right angles to the joist then cut a board at the end to fill in the gap i left at the start, that way the boards stay straight accross the ceiling.

I would be intersted to hear how other spreads do it as i know there are loads of methods

Thanks

I get the first boards in against the my chosen starting wall, if I have to mess around with butting the board up to wall to get square on joist, so be it.
Nothing a stanley knife, drywall saw and sub-form can't deal with. Likely you would have to do some work on board even if you set out a foot out from wall.
