Shaver light in Bathroom

The existing bathroom striplight has no shaver point. Can I attach a shavertype light with only live and neutral available (ie no earth wire exists).

This fitting is double insulted and does not require an earth connection (See PDF data sheet) Click here. However there should be an earth at every point on your lighting circuit (fittings switches etc). Are you sure there isn't an earth present? (it may have been cut off right at the sheath of the cable. this wire can be connected to, allowing the installation of an apropriate class 1 fitting). If there is no earth then you need to get an electrician to check out the wiring for you. The fitting above is sutiable for mounting ONLY in zone 3 or beyond.

Thanks, the fitting would be in zone 3.I will check again re earth. In any case the info on double insulated fitting is appreciated. thanks
