Shaver socket, bathroom light!

Hello,

I am re decorating my bathroom, and would just like some advise.

Some people advise that the above are better, taken off the ring with a fcu(outside the bathroom)

Some have said take it of the lighting circuit.

what I am asking is if taken from the mains, how is the correct way to feed both, as the light and socket are 1 metre apart. as would feeding both be technically 2 spurs and not correct.

Or could it just be done taking 2 feeds out of the FCU

as I need to channel the walls out soon.

Is there a reason why you don't want to take it off the lighting circuit? That is perfectly acceptable, and will save you the cost of an FCU, and will also simplify your supplementary bonding (since there is no Socket Circuit entering the bathroom).

i'm in a similar situation except i've bought a shaver socket and light in one! i think i'll take your advice and supply from the lighting circuit rather than the mains as i'd planned...

John could you clarify..

Are you saying that if the shaver is fed via the light supply then supplementary bonding of pipe work is NOT required due to no ring circuit being present in the bathroom / WC

No I'm not saying that.
The lighting circuit has to be supp bonded to the pipes anyway.

If you use the socket circuit in the bathroom as well, you have to bond that too. So additional bonding required.
