Shed build question

is it possible to get nails for the gun to secure the timber to the base & if so what nails would you suggest.

I would imagine that concrete fence posts would be damaged quite severely if you tried to use a nail gun to secure timber to them.

If you did need to do this, then drilling and screwing would be a better option but you'd still need to be careful with the hole diameter and choice of rawplug/screw thickness, otherwise you risk splitting them.

However - if the posts are the type which are 'H' in cross-section and you are mounting the shed on the smooth side, then they may have metal re-enforcements uppermost which will make drilling tricky.

As mentioned above - a substantial shed, if built properly, probably won't need securing to the base.

Are you laying the concrete posts right next to eachother ? If so, I would be tempted to raise the shed up off the base to minimise potential water damage. Or - you could leave spaces between the posts to allow water to drain away. Just a thought, as my own shed base has rotted due to water getting under the shed and rotting the wooden batons it was mounted on.
