Our shed needs re-roofing, in fact today one side has peeled off the top - folded on itself and is now hanging vertically - exposing all the woodwork underneath (which actually doesn't look in bad condition). Felt looks ok - just has come off so to speak

To be prudent - and before doing anything with it - I did a search - and found that some felts/bituminous products contain Asbestos ? Shed is of unknown age - probably not original from when house was built (1972).

Felt is in 2 sections, one covering each side of the roof (we're talking 2m by 2m sort of size for each piece of felt). Felt is a green-ish colour

any ideas please ?

thanks very much

The old type 1 and 2 underlays used to contain Asbestos. However, its encapsulated in bitumen, so unless you grind it up and snort it, of no real harm.
