I like to get to know the person I’m talking to but like an anonymous troll, you stick to the game plan. No name, no pack drill. Are you like some of the main mouthpieces on here I.e. wont tell your name, location, occupation etc lest you get tracked down and killed? Carry on. Say, you don't know anyone called Sir Galahad do you?

You do understand it is good advice not to put too much personal info on forums and social media in general?
Partly to avoid Trolls finding out who you are, where you live, when on holiday, lifestyle, possesions etc ?

Yeah but your first name, the county you live in and your trade is hardly of much use to those that want to seek you out and it does make you more of a 'real person' on the forum, doesn’t it? Not asking for full name, address, phone number, n.i. Number, bank account details etc am I? If you went into a room where people go to specifically chat and they would only respond from behind a mask, you'd be a bit suspicious of them wouldn’t you?

you give out as much info as you want (we even get to know what you have for breakfast), but some of us don't want to give out personal info.

I don’t mind people knowing what I look like, what I’ve done today, what my kids have been up to, what I’ve drunk, what I’ve had for breakfast, what my hobbies are, what I’ve bought, where I come from, what I do for a living, what I watched on telly etc etc. and I’d expect the same back from them. They are all the sort of things I'd talk about in normal conversation if I met someone face to face.

Just think, if you had to provide ID to join a website like you have to provide when dropping rubbish off at the local recycling centre, there'd be virtually no arguments on forums and the trolls would melt into the background.
