I am very tempted by a Galaxy, but a current owner colleague had to have a new turbo £1000+!.

My budget would mean an 02-03 model with 80 to 100k.

Have any owners had similar expenses!!

20-25 mpg :( :(
or ar least thats what my brother got average run about 6 miles return
not shure if it was a turbo deisel!!

hi benny hill.
i own a 1.9tdi galaxy and yes like all cars they have problems,i get somewhere between 33- 40 mpg around town and have had 57 mpg on a long journey accordingly to the trip computer, not bad considering it weighs nearly 2 tons,

pay a visit to the ford galaxy forum
http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/

im a moderator on that site and its full of info that you will find very helpful
and your be most welcome.

Last year I've read a motor magazine regarding the trip computer and after a few tests, they don't appear to be accurate. I've done a test on my car on full tank just around town, I've worked it out I have done 47mpg and yet the trip computer quoting 54mpg. Even the Goverment mpg fiqures on new cars are not correct! I don't know if it's for selling point(?)

i never go by the trip, iirc they done a test on the vw blue motion and they got no where near the stated figures the the company claimed,
the mk2 ford galaxy tdi are vw engines and are pretty reliable, but as said b4 just like any car they have problems, hence a forum was set up to help owners of these cars to get the help needed and save getting ripped off by the stealers.
