Hi, I am going to replace the tonge and groove floor boards in a bathroom.
Should I leave an expansion gap round all the edges?
If so how much please?
Thanks

With joinery t&g? It will shrink if anything so fit each board tight, the thickness of the skirting will cover any expansion.

Thanks, so yes leave say a 5mm gap?
Eg under the bath and all round?
Then fit the skirting on the other parts that show?

You can leave what you like under the bath as long as the skirting covers the gap if:when it is remodelled

No, you don't need an expansion gap like with floor covering.

As each floorboard is fixed to the rafters the floor boards do not move.

Edit:
Joists, joists, not rafters!
