...Just a quick one..... Obviously the copper pipe to a shower should be bonded. Is it acceptable to bond this where the pipe starts to run through the plaster (say under the bath)? Also, does the earth connector in the shower have to be bonded to anything else?

Thanks

Yes, bond anywhere in close proximity to the shower, and no, no need to connect the earth connector in shower to anything other than the CPC of the incoming cable.

You will probably find that your shower and bath share a cold water supply so -

1. bond the hot and cold water supplies together under the bath, bond also to your radiator (or pipe feeding radiator)
2. bond together the CPC's (earths) of the light fitting, shower and any other circuit feeding the bathroom (easiest at pull switches)
3. here's the more difficult one - connect a link between the pipe bonding and your CPC bonding

All bond clamps must be accesible - under the bath, in a cupboard or in the loft is accesible. Under the floor boards is not.

3. here's the more difficult one - connect a link between the pipe bonding and your CPC bonding

if the CPC of the lights and Shower are linked (say between light switch and Shower isolator)
and all pipes are bonded under bath + radiators
and cold water shower pipe is bonded before plaster work under bath,
and the CPC of the shower circuit is bonded to the cold water feed inside the path.....

is there any need for further bonding betwenn pipe bonding and the CPC bonding as per no3?
Doesn't the CPC of the shower circuit provide a 'bonding path'? or do you need larger diameter cable? [/quote]

Using circuit earth conductors as part of bonding is perfectly fine.
