shower head push fit connection

Hi All , I am installing a concealed mixer valve with a separate hand held shower head.
I am a bit surprised to see the fitment on the hand held shower head supply though . Instead of the usual screw on type ,it is a push on fit (similar to a garden hose connection ) with a grub screw from below to stop 2 sections from separating.
As I dont have any fitting instructions i am not sure if i am missing something here. Will this be able to have a water tight seal once installed or shall i look for an alternative shower head + hose and fitment ? Has anyone seen a similar type shower valve before ?

Any info on this much appreciated

It looks like its installed already

Over time i imagine it might leak, through water pressure and general movement; is it worth investing in a spare hose now?

Sorry I just managed to take a photo of the actual bits today but I can’t seem to be able to upload on to the forum as it is giving me some sort of error. will try tomorrow.

Also cant understand how this get secured to the wall with those screws at the back. Am i missing some metal plate perhaps ?
