We are looking to fit a shower in an attic bedroom. We have a combi boiler in the house for our current water supply, this is some 50ft away from our shower location. We currently have no water supply upstairs and no hot or cold water tanks and limited space in which to fit one. What do we need to buy and do to fit a shower in these circumstances?

simple answer is connect into the hot and cold water from say bathroom run pipes to where u want them in the attic and connect to a thermostatic shower mixer.
the cold and hot water are under mains pressure...so assuming its ok at that height u'll get a shower.......how good a shower depends on ur combi boiler.
or u could just run a cold pipe from the bathroom mains and fit an electric shower......which would still work if ur combi broke down.

A skylight and watering can

planning permission to turn the loft into a room.

Raise the roof to the min allowed height.

strengthen the floor.

construct a staircase

This sounds ok, what I don't understand is how these thermo mixers work. Our cold pressure is good but the hot is weak will this sort of shower heat up the water at the location? otherwise we will have a very slow trickle of water!

from that info and other things considered fit electric.
