thanks for the reply...can it be done and what should I do simply cap off the two ports where the cold would go in to the pump??

no you can buy a single impeller pump.

but still think its a bad idea!

get a twin pump ( hot and cold ) take both pipes into the pump and then to the shower , if u use a single pump u would then have unequal pressures.

if not go for a electric shower fed by mains either option is good and will give u great results

Stuart, you won't get much in the way of flow from an electric shower. Your original idea of pumping the hot only and mixing with mains cold, although not approved, will give much better performance.

obviously maises dad says the cold mains pressure is good or didn't u read that part CHRIS but its an option open to all

never use the idea of mixing hot water from your cylinder with your mains water, either use one or the other and not both as people have recomended (CHRIS)

This is b0llocks, which is why I posted. Billplumb, your advice is just not up to scratch. Save it for your unfortunate customers.

I'm not recommending mixing tank fed hot and mains cold, but if that's the situation the poster is stuck with, he'd be better off doing that than going for the feeble flow of an electric shower, not to mention the cost of putting in the cable.

And billplumb - USE THE EDIT KEY! You have been warned before by the MOD.

If u want to give incorrect advice then be my guest Chris, the cost of a electric supply or new 22mm supply to to pump plus the cost of the pump seems to balance the costs
