Silicone bath sealant: leave overnight?

Putting silicone sealant round a bath. I filled the bath three-quarters before applying the sealant bead.
Leave the bath filled overnight?
Empty the bath in stages or all at once?

Won't do no harm but remember if you have young children with deep water then just pull the plug.
