Hi

Instead of screwing a baton (porcelain tiles) will silicon be strong enough?

Making a bath panel frame and the bottom baton will prove a bit difficult. The two on the side will be screw in and the top one will be screwed into the side ones.

Will that be strong enough?

Maybe, it will all depend upon exposure to moisture etc in the future. I wouldn't use silicone either, I'd use a polymer high grip product that is water tolerable like CT1 or Stixall or Sticks Like S**T etc.

The adhesive will only be as strong to the surface that it is sticking too. If that surface is friable or likely to delaminate then you are bu&&ered. Are you sticking it to tiles or wood....?

I'll be sticking to tiles porcelain glazed.
I would have put a couple holes through and screwed them the baton in, but it's very difficult to drill through

Ah, this batten is sitting on a tiled floor? Ordinary silicone won't hold it against an ordinary accidental kick, but a couple of battens laying right across under the bath against the back wall will, unless the mice want to push it outwards.

do it the easy way
frame to sit against
panel tall enough for the top to go under the bath lip
present at an angle push back and done gravity holds it in place
seal the gap between floor and panel with silicon as usual

Thanks once again guys. This is a great site an a excellent bunch of VERY helpful people.

Many thanks. Really really appreciated!
