Sink leaking around connection to McAlpine SK1 kit

Hello

We've just had a new Teka 1½ bowl sink and bought a McAlpine SK1 kit to fit it.

Where the ½ bowl connects is fine as the black Teka provided connector went straight on to the straight pipe instead of the supplied connector. However, where the main bowl connection is, the black Teka connector won't connect to the McAlpine kit so we used their connector and it's leaking.

My thoughts are that we need a piece of pipe between the top of the connector and the Teka fitting so it is a tight seal. However, the kit only comes with one length of pipe and we've used it for the ½ bowl!

Other than starting again, can anybody help me?
