But I confess I have a socket that is 300mm vertically from a sink in my Utility area as there is no where else it can be, except at ceiling height, lol
Qed, could you supply the actual reg that states the distance, I cant find a distance in BS7671, a kitchen isn't even a special location in there.

There is no specific reg but 300mm sounds like a good kind of distance - When dealing with sockets and sinks, a little common sense is required!
