The universe works to a set of rules. We observe those rules and call them laws. You can't change the way the universe is - it just is.

But you have no way of knowing if we know everything yet. So you could be totally incorrect. As indeed I could be.

But going faster than the speed of light is NOT a law, it is a theory. Scientists thought they had fired neutrinos faster than the speed of light, until it is proven nothing can go faster it remains a theory, not a law.

OK then...... How about the plum pudding model of the atom? That was Scientific fact until the scientists discovered otherwise..

The nice thing about science is that the laws change as we discover more.. The laws that we have now fit everything that we know to be true at this date. Somewhere down the line some damned fine and clever chap will discover that it is all wrong and will change the laws...
