Skinny bead of sealant around bath

Hi

Need to replace sealant around bath as condenation and mould had detrimental effect etc and noticed that the width of the previous sealant (done with new bathroom) is very thin. It's consistent all the way round but just seems a lot thinner than normal.

Could it be that this was deliberate as gap minute or guy just saving on sealant etc.

What would you advise in these circumstances?

Enough sealant to seal the gap, no more, no less.
