Skirting on UFH porcelain tiles

Advice on how to mount MDF skirting on a porcelain UFH floor.

Originally I was just going to fix skirting to the wall (no more nails and screws where required) and rest the MDF on floor. Wondering if I should space the skirting off the floor tiles by 2mm so its a)easier to paint without painting the floor b) I can seal it with clear silicon sealant to stop mdf swelling if it gets wet. Room is a Kitchen Diner. Any thoughts, strong view? Thoughts on expansion?

Just sit the skirting on the floor(thats how its always been done) - no need for gaps or silicone beads.

Beware of pinning the skirting thro any pipes or cables in the walls.
