I want to construct a slanted ceiling, but apart from the birds mouth joint onto the higher wall plate, what is the best way to attach to the lower plate? Is it another birdsmouth or just cut the angle and fix. It will be plasterboarded.
Thanks

Another birdsmouth, just like the top. Then continue it down to a plumb (vertical) cut where the fascia’s going to be. Sometimes it needs another little notch further down to clear the outer skin (if there is one)

Edit: although your pic seems to suggest it abuts a wall at the bottom, like a lean to between two buildings. If so, you’ll need to get the gutter right…

It's going underneath an existing glass roof and is completely internal, so the lower plate is fixed to the internal wall.

Normally the rafter would be seated with a birdsmouth, but if you did not want to see the ledger plate, just the underside of the ceiling meeting the wall, then you would use a 2x2 and a 2" notch on the bottom of the rafters.

Don't suppose you could do a quick drawing of what you mean if you don't mind.

Instead of. If you don't like it, put a ledger and joist hangers so the ledger is entirely in the ceiling

ps; think I'd have drawn that 2x2 a bit closer to the bottom of the rafter. In that location it's a bit weak
