Hi all, I'm currently rebuilding my downstairs toilet, what a project I let myself in for! Anyway the wife drops on me tonight she wants a pull light switch that brings the lights on through a dim to full brightness. Better explained you pull the switch, on comes light dim going all the way up to full brightness.
I have looked and looked tonight and all I can find is one where you hold it and it works like a dimmer till you let go. Does this thing even exist and if so where cn I get on?

Cheers lads,

Dave

Most energy efficient lightbulbs seem to do this to a certain extent, some worse (or better) than others.

I think maybe this is what you have found.

It comes on dim and gradually goes to bright or until you let go when it stays at the level where you let go.

Are you looking for one that comes on dim and goes to full brightness automatically without holding the cord to control the level?

Otherwise what FMT is saying does the job without a dimmer switch!

This one seems to work a little different if you read the bit about operation

Thanks guys. I was after a slow on time, and looking into it it is cfl bulbs THT achieve this, but the start up can be minutes, not a few seconds as I wanted. Think ill convince the misses to go for the dimmer pull cord instead, cheers

Most of the bulbs in my house take a few seconds to get to full brightness and one that takes about 30 seconds, they all vary.

Why would you go to the downstairs loo in the middle of the night?

Anyway - it wasn't obvious to me! Having thought about it though it does look like a nice thing to have in an upstairs bathroom.
