When my small Garden Room was built 6 years ago 2 metal lights were fitted on either side of the patio door, they were halogen bulbs. They operated from a single switch with a fuse in. One of these lights has now failed and the electrician says the wiring has burnt out because the bulb was vertical and it should have been horizontal. I only have about 8 or 9 inches either side and I wish to use the one switch. What kind of fittings should I be looking for? Most wall lights have cords on them. I would like something contemporary in style.

Any help appreciated.
