So come on, pick Boris's successor.

it's great to see the residue of johnson supporters, flapping about on the beach after the tide has gone out
MIght pay you to remember there are loads of them. Now forced to do something - that doesn't mean they have gone away. There are only really a few that see things differently to how their klu Klux Klan do. They will all be looking for a way to continue business as usual probably adding tax cuts some how or the other that they can't really afford. Maybe an increase in the min wage - not so bad as far as they are concerned.

I may of heard this incorrectly but think Reece Mog thinks some financial easing would be a good idea or perhaps he was moaning and thinks Mrs T's base rate increases were the best way to handle banks when they have come to grief. Too late now. That level of increase would cause ructions now. Mrs T's caused a fair amount.

there are not as many johnson supporters as the beach flappers think.

There are a lot more than you seem to think. |Hence the time to get shut of him but by all means dream on.

you think there are enough to want to keep him in office?

wrong.

even his acolytes jumped out of the portholes rather than go down on him.

No sniping, just pick one Tory who you think will be his replacement.
I’ll go first. Ben Wallace.

He would be my choice.

But the ERG hold significant power and they won’t be able to cope with a man of honour and he doesn’t believe in brexit

by the way, Ben Wallace was a remainer, this was a tweet in 2016 by him:

Rt. Hon Ben Wallace MP

@BWallaceMP

United Kingdom government official

As a remainer I am of course gutted by the result. But it is now my duty to make sure The UK thrives in the world and stays together

Well the man has just gone up in my estimation - not that it makes any difference.

The Party will field remainers, effectively you may have got the second referendum you all craved.

I think I know which way it will go.

Blimey could it possibly be that a remainer Tory gets to be PM and calls for another referendum

Blimey how will Starmer / Labour react having made his make Brexit work type speech :ROFLMAO:

I'm not on about Boris coming back ;) though some think he might put himself forward for the leadership election.

I'm pointing out there is still a lot of support for the same beliefs. They haven't gone and don't want to go down with him. Even Reece Mog seems to think he might survive - with some doubt though. The cabinet are tarnished now - all of them, Be interesting to see how it all works out.

Some ERG also got themselves nice gov jobs in the civil service.

I don't think it will happen. Rather large hole in a stretched budget now to join again. EU also said no way the rebate would be available if we did rejoin. That could concieveably be negotiable but just what would they gain. What came here from them still does and I can't see that changing much. It just takes longer with more paperwork now.

The mantra will be make brexit work. AKA as Starmer.
