So come on, pick Boris's successor.

I don't think 6 weeks is fully available due to when the ballot papers start going out. Mentioned on the news - accurate? Pass.

One poll asked them questions about things like taxation levels. The responses were mixed. One reason for allowing them to be high was because the public wants more spent in civil areas. I can't remember numbers. Most I suspect will base opinions on so called scroungers and providing services for nothing despite all of the news items that show insufficient is being put into these areas and that they have other problems such a staffing levels. Magic money - lets say we get more gp's and nurses what happens - they have to be paid. Oh I know they can work harder instead.

Currently Sunak and the idiot Truss are not campaigning at, or for, the nation or the citizens as a whole.

They are just trying to win the favour of the rather small, mostly old, mostly thatcherites or further loony right wingers, paid-up backwoodsmen membership of the Conversative party.

Nothing else counts.

Remember, these are the people who chose Johnson, after the Con MPs selected him as the winning candidate.

If Truss has eighty thousand supporters among Tory members, she will be your next leader.

What was the conclusion of the recent report of sexism and racism in the Labour Party ? Did you get your copy

Hmmm I note that the two candidates for the Tory party you hate are

A woman

And a non white person

;)

So what?
With all that's going on right now, you'd clearly have to be mad to want the job.
You may as well put Porky Pig in charge.

What you talking about ?

I would not hesitate to
take the job

Good wage
Good pension
And other Perks

Good pension
Actually I do think that is a factor that those who work for the state should consider in relationship to their salary levels. :) Not that they will.

On the other hand use has been made of early retirement. Lets hope the funds aren't messed up. It's sometimes used as a way of getting people to work in a different way and also get cheaper people in. It was used pretty heavily in teaching at one point and also I believe in councils.

Elmer Fudd, then, apparently.:p

Dunno who Elmer Fudd is ?

But there would be significant changes made

One of which would be tradesman amongst others would be bumped up in society were as

Plenty of Pencil pushers would be bumped down

OK, let me put it another way. How many of the illegal 'boat people' have been granted UK citizenship?
Roughly 70% of asylum seekers in small boats get leave to remain I believe.

Do they?
Well, I suppose if 'leave to remain' includes being fed, housed and paid pocket money, with no sign of any repatriation to either their own country or France (their last safe haven), then I'd say the 100% of them have been 'given leave to remain'!
To be honest, I find it quite worrying that they continue to come in droves and there is no sign of any move to either send them back whence they came or to even stop them coming. If this continues indefinitely, I'm afraid that this country is going to change in a very serious way! At the age of 70 and having no children, I suppose I should not be too bothered about that, but I do feel sorry for our own young people.

I’m not sure why you would think that, the number of asylum claims is far less than it was in 2003, and you weren’t worried about it then.

The real difference now is the right have weaponised it.

Plus covid removed other routes coming here, so they now all come by boat.

Well blame the UK govt for not allowing them to work here.

We are massively short of workers, many of these refugees have skills, we should employ them

and there is no sign of any move to either send them back whence they came or to even stop them coming

How do you think we could stop them coming?

France already take 3x more than UK, what incentive have they got?

Please think about this: if you don’t want them coming to the UK at all, then why should France, Italy, Greece, Turkey etc etc take any.

And if nobody wants to take these refugees, how do you think the problem will be solved?

Tory grandees sussed out lightweights Mordaunt and Tugendhat, and are now putting Truss on the back foot. Sunak might still make it.

Blup
