Soakaway in clay

I have searched here but didn't find exactly the answer..

I am looking at putting in a water tap down in our small campsite, i wanted to add a drain for any overrun and for a dog wash area. Problem is we are pretty much clay all the way down as far as i remember when i last dug with a mini digger.
Am i wasting my time with soak away crates?

May as well dig a hole and see. We are on clay and my missus is making me dig out for a trampoline, i’m suprised at how fast it clears the water.

If you have the space and some soil on the clay you could run an ACO channel anywhere out of the way.

once its full, its full!

You could dig a hole and do a porosity test, to see what will happen
