I use to have a window at the back of my lounge I have taken this out and used a angle grinder to cut a opening and fitted french doors.

my lounge was bare brick at the time I have since had the walls plastered however to the left of the door the wall is still not dry after 3 weeks!

also every time it works the floor in this area is wet, outside the wall appears to be wet.

any suggestions, could it be I have broken the Dampcourse and if so what do i do? i really need to sort this so I can decorate

Thanks H

What does this sentence mean?

When you removed the masonry from below the window did you notice if the cavity was clear, particularly low down?

presumably you got or will be getting building approval ? i would say though as we have had exceptionally bad weather could be just then - make sure that if the pointing had been disturbed it might need re doing.

we had same thing done to our house years ago by safestyle - no problmes whatsover no wet - no damp
