Hi, the hole I cut in my tiles isn't quite big enough for the socket plate to fit in so I need to make it bigger.

What would be the best way to do this?

I have an SDS hammer drill (Bosch PBH 2100 RE) but I don't think I can get a tile cutting drill bit for it.

Do I need to buy a drill? And if I do, any recommendations?

Thanks,

Arty

can you see both the lugs for fixing screws?

The plate is not supposed to go into the hole, it is supposed to sit on the face of the wall, with the "works" inside.

Take a closer picture, and show us the back of the socket under the hole.

Its the guts of the face plate that doesn't fit into the hole. A box that extends a little on the back to connect the wiring.

Device boxes should be flush with the finished surface - its a safety requirement. I know that its not always the case with retro work but there are outlet box extenders available esp. for tile situations. You then tile to the extender footprint

Use of a 41/2" angle grinder with a tile blade, as recom above, might be best bet or, if its worth your while, to remove the tiles and cut in properly?

Multi tool with tile blade or Rotazip with tile bit. Grinder may be possible .
If you fail easy to remove the tile and start again.
