Am i right in saying to a kitchen fitter that under part p sockets can no longer be fitted onto units, they have to be fixed secuerly to the wall. Please can someone clarify this?

Why would part p change this??

Sockets should be fixed to building fabric........again, these are not the words of the regs, but is an agreed term.

A correctly fitted kitchen is considered building fabric in most sparkies eyes.

It is suggested as good practice in the Building Regs. to fix to the fabric of the building, not cabinets.

it is perfectly acceptable to fit sockets to kitchen cupboards. some sparks have personal views but thats all they are
