Sofa zig zag spring clips falling to pieces

This just to alert people of the cheap plastic clips used in some sofas. Our sofa is about 5 years old and it was a fairly good make. But they used plastic clips to hold the zig zag clips and after a few years the plastic has deteriorated and the clips just snap off. I have ordered metal clips.
Picture shows the broken half of each clip, the other half is still in the sofa.
