I posted this on the "kill the poor" thread, and as a 1930s home owner found it interesting.
About 7 minutes in it talks about the design of 1930s houses - describes the idea as creating airy homes for good health - maybe that is why they never bothered with worrying about preventing damp - the houses were designed to have doors and windows open all the time!
