Is there a way to remove dried glue from solvent pipes? So that these can be cleaned and re-used.

ok....I reformulate the question this way: is there a way to chemically remove solvent cement residue from pipes?
Of course there is a mechanical way which involves scraping and sanding but maybe there are some other ways...

Solvent weld is just that - it actually dissolves the parent material so any solvent would probably make things worse.
If you ever get the joints apart then cleaning them up with abrasive cloth would be the only way to go, I think.

I get your point....
The reason I managed to disjointing a few pipes was because I used the wrong pipes (push fit pipes are smaller and made of PP which can't be glued - learning the hard way...) so, there's plenty of dried glue which won't allow to re use these fittings.
Solvent weld piping better than push fit?!
The next comment I read about the "wonders" of such outdated system will be zapped and the author's nose glued to the remaining pot of solvent glue I bought (still scraping that awful stuff from my fingers).
