No great problem with that one, just rake out what material is loose and point it back up again.
I'd use ready made mortar from Wickes for that - less waste. Add some PVA or SBR to the mix, and indeed, brush some of the solution on before getting started. Keep the mix fairly stiff and you can finish it with a hand brush.
It may be a little cold out there just now, so maybe take that into account?

As its a single story extention and not much of it then it should be a DIY job. I had similar issue but mine was that the mortat was all sand and not enough cement and was very soft and crumbly/ sandy and looking at your picture it looks lke the bit left behind is the same. Stick a screwdriver into it -- is it soft. I am not a roofer but it looks like the bedding of the tiles has been done with a weak mix and then left to go off and then the outer mortar was stronger but just hasn’t stuck to the other and has fallen off. I dont think its the wind to blame sooner or later it would of fallen off anyway
Or the bit that has fallen off is also a redo from it falling off before.
I would take off the edge tiles remove all old mortar and redo. Then this time it will be one contentious bed without a skim on top. You may break the cement board under cloak so get some in ready - its about £5 for a length i think. Its that thin bit between the cladding and the mortar that has fallen out.
It was pointed in different mortar used to bed the verge.
It should be bedded and pointed in the same mortar.
Also , the battens have been left to long and need trimming back before the verge is re bedded.
Long term , pointing isn't a solution
