General Assembly endorses New York Declaration on two-State solution between Israel and Palestine
Applause rang out in the UN General Assembly Hall on Friday as countries endorsed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and implementation of the two-State solution with Israel.
The acid test comes next week at the joint summit hosted by France and S.Arabia. Then we'll find out how the West will respond to Israel's out of control appetite for destruction

It'll all be jolly embarrassing for the US if France, Spain and the UK vote to conditionally recognise a Palestinian state while Israel maintains focus on destroying any hope of such a thing ever happening. It probably won't while Netanyahu lives.

Former UK Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair has been involved in discussions about leading a post-war transitional authority in Gaza, the BBC understands. The proposal, which is said to have backing from the White House, would see Blair lead a governing authority supported by the UN and Gulf nations - before handing control back to Palestinians. His office said he would not support any proposal that displaced the people of Gaza.
The plan would be modelled on the international administrations that oversaw East Timor and Kosovo's transitions to statehood. It would initially be based in Egypt, near Gaza's southern border, before entering Gaza once the Strip is stable, alongside a multinational force. Reports of discussions about his involvement in a transitional authority for Gaza come after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Thursday that he was ready to work with Trump and other world leaders to implement a two-state peace plan.

It sounds like an excellent plan. It very much echoes what I have been calling for all along. Much better than Trump's original plan to displace all the Palestinians and turn Gaza into a massive casino. It would be a huge poisoned chalice for whoever leads the authority, but I would admire Tony Blair for taking it on. Maybe he is seeking redemption after Iraq.
Doubt it, he hasn't apologised for Iraq.
