My Harrier48, Model 127602 Type 2004 - E1 engine code 01012459

The plug was replaced in march 23, NGK B2-LM

Starting was very hard checked plug and it was sooted see picture,

Cutting the lawns once a week take 90 mins to 120 mins so the mower has a good run once running there is no smoke and it runs very well and used no oil.

Is this the right plug for this engine ??

That plug, looking at it's thread length is for a side valve engine........OHV engines usually have a long reach plug.
Can you give us a pic of the engine please, from the cylinder head view?
I wouldn't worry about the soot particularly so long as it's brown in colour - is the air filter clean?
John :)

Here you go John.

Properly more than you wanted.

Air filter fitted Mar 03 And new oil.

Wow a twenty year old air filter. I would fit a new one and the manufacturers recommended spark plug.

Yep, that's the original Briggs side valve engine.......not very efficient and they do tend to produce carbon, which is why they are all OHV or OHC engines now.
I think that plug is correct - at least I stock that one, but not absolutely sure which engine it's recommended for. Either way, it will be fine.
As for the air cleaner, if it's got a foam outer then only oil it very lightly - the paper one needs to be oil free and preferably reasonably new.
Other than that, there aren't any adjustments for this carburettor you can make but accurate starting depends on how many times you pump the primer bulb! That comes with trial and error.........
John :)
