speeding up concrete

I've got to set a scaffold pipe dead vertical in a hole, I can't support it so will have to hold it........how can I speed up the concrete?

Knock it into the ground below the concrete?

Pack it with bricks within the concrete?

Use a long piece of timber to prop the pole?

I hope you are not standing in the concrete holding the pole while it sets. That would be problematic

To hold the pole without moving it slightly while the concrete goes off will be really difficult. Any movement will break the bond and make it loose.

Nice one Wood, Wickes sell blue circle rapid 30 min cement, I knocked the pole down through the hole into the clay subsoil by 4 inches, bunged a few bricks in the hole with the concrete, held for 10 mins, it started to stiffen (I get excited easily!) then left the thing to go off

That extra rapid stuff does what it says on the packet... its quick!
