Split Face Tiles

Hi all

I'm just about to tile an internal wall with stone split face tiles. The substrate is cement render base on top of breeze block. My question is should I apply a PVA coat before the tile adhesive or must I use some other type of sealer on top of cement render?

don't use PVA, prime with an SBR primer or better still the primer recommended by the adhesive manufacturer
