on checking the wiring in my new house, i noticed the whole kitchen extension comes off one ring main socket. thats five seperate sockets is this safe.

are you saying the whole ring come off a 13amp plug or a sepate fuse or mcb
it is wired into a 13 amp plug socket
ie spurred off a socket on a diffrent ring or 'with fitted plug'

it sounds like someone has banged all the sockets off 1 double radial style.if this is right then its seriously not ok .only one spur allowed per socket.imagine the pressure on that first bit of cable and the original socket terminals.

ouch. this means someone of the future will turn off the kitchen ring, removes a socket and the rest is shocking history.

if yu have a spare section in the consumer unit or fuse box...
call a reaiable electrictian,
get him to move the ring onto a seprate breaker or fuse,
and sleep easy at night!
