2 questions Probaly been asked before, can you join a spurred socket with another spur from a different socket does this complete a ring .Why is there no earth wire in radios or similar appliances.

If you join two spurs from different sockets you will then have made a ring on a ring...Not good really.

No earth in some appliances is due to said appliance being double insulated (classII) ,look for the symbol on double insulated equipment bearing a small box within a box.
 
No, never attempt to join spurs together, they do not form a ring. It can cause an interconnection across the ring, which negates the purpose of having a ring in the first place.

Radios and other like appliances are double insulated and therefore do not need an earth. Look out for the symbol which is a square within a square.
 
OK fully understood.Festa i like your bit about manners they can be taught trouble is alot of people think its rude to use them.

Most importantly if you do what you propose you have combined two circuits and their overcurrent protection, so an unsuspecting person who thinks they have made a circuit safe to work on by removing the fuse or offing the breaker will get a shock if he doesn't first prove no voltage. You might have a retired electrician in the throws of a heart attack on your lving room floor.
