I fully understand the biomass circle. But it will take us more than a hundred years to break even. Currently, we are releasing two and and a half times more CO2 in these critical years from biomass than if we burnt natural gas. How many people realise this. What is the point in saying there is an immediate crisis and doing something which makes that immediate crisis considerably worse.

I think most people would be surprised to learn that we have voluntarily increased our medium term CO2 emissions substantially. Whilst paying more for the electricity it produces. And destroying virgin forests in order to do it. When the benefits are still disputed.

So natural gas would have to be many times more "better" than biomass than it actually is, in terms of carbon dioxide released, to be a net improvement.
