Hi,

Am just about to place an order for a stir case

Am waiting for the fabrictors to get back to me but in the mean time would like some advice on the stub newel.

The newel post is 90mmx90mm and if centred on the stringer this will be 10mm short of the side trimmer (beneath the line of the stud wall). Is this a problem as thought the newel needs to be notched over the trimmer? Can't really make the stairs wider as 810 approx between wall to wall opening.

Also on the stud wall side at the top of the stairs should there be another stub newel for connecting to the landing trimmer or is it ok for the stringer to connect direct to the joist.

Thanks
