Can anybody recommend a standard steel bath 1700x700 you've recently purchased and fitted.

Too many options online.

Is there a guide to min weight? Saw one in B&Q that looked alright, but one reviewer suggested 20kg was too light.

Most sites don't seem to share steel thickness or bath weight. I guess heavier the better in general.

There are plenty of Kaldewei steel baths on eBay but you do have to check the specs very carefully e.g. tap holes, legs

I was recently planning to change the bath but decided to make do in the end.

I have a Kaldewei, I think they do 2 thicknesses - mine is the thicker and very solid.

I’m not sure what weight has on the choice of bath? The other thing is, they damage easily if something like a tile is dropped on them, but suppose that can be said for any enamelled steel bath.

I just read one poor review of a B&Q steel bath being a bit flimsy at 20kg, and see that the premium models are around 40kg. But, maybe they are all ok and some people are just fussy!

Yeah, need a good tiler with lots of blankets...

What sort of waste? Does it matter?

eg.
Kaldewei Comfort Level Pop Up Waste £181.00

Bristan Economy Bath Waste with Brass Plug Chrome - Slotted £24.95

I'm not actually a fan of pop up wastes after one got stuck in a basin and I had to drill a hole into it to dislodge it.

Is there any point in paying 7 times more for a special waste?

I am veering towards this bath anyway

Probably recommend the cheaper one, I’m not a fan of pop up’s either.
