Stanley tools opinions

When I was a nipper many moons ago, Stanley tools were seen as robust, good quality tools. Then sometime in the the 80's the quality nose dived. Now they seem to be producing some good quality stuff again. Anyone else think stanley tools are worth considering again, or is it just me.

They seem to have an infinite amount of seemingly well designed toolboxes available, all guaranteed to break.

 dunno about the toolboxes, but the tools themselves seem a lot more robust than they did a few years back.

Curate's egg - good in parts. Some tools are well worth the money, e.g. Fat Max XL spirit levels, welded head hammers, etc - other stuff is still quite poor, e.g. the standard range of hand planes, some of the trestles, etc

Fat Max spirit levels are very good IMO.

I just bought a cheap Stanley 20oz hammer with fibreglass handle, also seems decent,

Well I recently purchased a fat max (stupid name) jab saw, seems pretty well made if perhaps a bit on the pricey side. Stanley do seem to have upped their game a bit, few years ago most of their stuff was borderline tat.
