I stand corrected; Churchill apparently was well know for weeping. He had things to cry about though- he was crying for his country. Starmer sobbed because he can no longer betray the country

Churchill was a passionate moviegoer and routinely wept in his private cinema room at Chartwell, crying not only at tragic films but even at lighthearted comedies and sentimental dramas.

Also, hearing old songs from his youth or poetry about the English landscape or tragic historical figures would reliably bring him to tears.
