Statue of Saint George destroyed by foreign invaders

And yet the mob were happy to fly his banner up and down the B.Isles this summer.

What's your point?
Hilarious. Gammon flag shaggers deliriously waving, clutching, shagging the flag of St George , like it was their first ever hand shandy, dismissing St George.
The oxymoronic gymnastics continue, for the confused old duffers.

Isn't the St George's Cross of Norman origin.
The Norman's who ended English independence at the Battle of Hastings.
The true flag of England is supposed to be the White Lion or Dragon (not sure which one).

No, or was adopted during the crusades, you know, when or Christian soldiers matched off to kill Muslims and reclaim the holy land. Sorry, i meant find the holy grail, obviously. Our knights were noble and chivalrous.

People, soldiers and civilians, started to question why they were doing it, and somebody decided St George was an inspiring story.

I think St Edmond was in the running to be our man, much more a English.

The White Dragon.
The tale of Vortigern is quite sure about that.
Cymric the red won the day that time.
