Step? Laminate flooring

Chaps,

I've got a "step" at my side door of approx 6mm, the previous laminate floor had a cement/ leveller taper (if thats the right way to describe it) to take up the step, but as the whole fit looked like it had been layed by El Laminato Bandito, i'm thinking this isn't the correct way to do it.

what do you recommend?

6mm isn't a lot
if you try tapering over a meter or so you wont realy notice
obviously level is best but few [if any] floors will be completely level
in the grand sceam of things 6mm is minimal

take some hardboard feather the edge at 2/3 distance add another bit on top 0 to 1/3 distance tapered as well add a second thickness of underlay to take up the slack
