I need to higher my front Door step, as the wife is slightly disabled and cant cope with the step down, the present step at the moment is only about a inch lower than the damp course, therefor the new step will bridge the damp course.
Is this a problem ? the front door is inside a porch and protected from the weather, or do I build the new step slightly away from the house, thus not bridging the damp membrane.
