Hi,

Ive seen a few really good deals on engineered flooring at the moment. Problem is I wont be ready to lay it until the end of the summer '12!!

The deals are too good to miss so I need to buy before new year.

The only place I can store it is in my detached garage (very cold, not very damp)

The boards are 13.5mm HDF.

Obviously will leave a lot of time to acclimatise before laying but does anyone think the coming winter months could cause a problem? I was thinking of keeping them off garage floor and wrapping in sheeting/tarpaulin until temperature starts to rise.

Cheers

I have just bought some, and in the gumf from the supplier it states that it should not be stored in sheds or garages and should only be in the main house. It also said it should be in the house for 6 weeks prior to laying it.

However

I have some leftover wood from a couple of years ago that has been in a unheated shed which I put into the house about 6 weeks ago and it seems fine. and has laid fine.

I would think that the have to say this to cover themselves. but that is just my opinion.

Either way the risk is one you will have to decide upon yourself. and pay the conseuences if it goes wrong.

Jack.....don't spend money on a floor now that you will not fit until summer.

By then you/wife will have changed your mind anyway.

My old man used to say to me, "when you have money in your pocket, you will always find a deal"

Hold tight and wait until the summer.
